Sony Tivo SVR-2000 - once you use one you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

The Sony tivo is one of the best things to ever happen to tv.

It has become almost a religion to many people. Some talk about being converted because after you get one you can't watch tv ever again without your tivo.

I am not really from the tivo religion, but I will probably never again watch much tv without my Tivo.

There are so many advantages that it is almost hard to know where to start.

You can stop what you are watching, and rewind it to watch it again.

I was amazed how many times I missed something that was said, or couldn't hear an important part, once I had the power to rewind anytime I wanted I really found out how much I was missing.

If you get a phone call, no problem. Just stop your tv and talk as long as you want.

When your wife comes in to tell you something you just stop the tv and give her your undivided attention until she stops talking and then you tell her, that's too bad, or that's wonderful depending on what she said then you can start your show back up and you have not missed a thing.

This feature alone has saved my marrage countless times, making my Tivo worth many times what I paid for it.

On ebay the old Tivos were selling for almost as much as the new Tivos.

In the last year I have seen the price of the old tivo 1 units drop. almost all Tivos fro sale are from people who purchased a tivo 2, and like the way the tivo 2 works so now they feel they can safely let go of the old tivo 1

I had a very rare accident where the power to our house was cut by about 75% for an hour during this time the tivo was trying to run but with so little power it just couldn't do it and it ended up burning itself out.

I purchased a new hard drive and installed it myself with some directions from the internet.

During the days I was without tivo I couln't watch tv, I tried several times but I just couldn't stand it more than a couple minutes.

After that I purchased a back up tivo that I have sitting in my closet.

I have both a tivo 1 and a tivo 2, with the tivo 1 you can use it without the service.

The tivo 2 can not be used except for the stop live tv feature. You can't record anything, or even play anything that you have recorded, I guess it is their method of keeping you from using the unit without the service.

When the first call is scheduled then the unit basically locks itself up until you sign up and pay.

I think the tivo is one of the greatest inventions of all time, once you get one you to will wonder how you ever watched tv with out it.
