Making Money Online Writing

I enjoy writing and I had a dream that I would be able to write a few little articles publish them on the internet and then people would flock to read them.  Then I could sell a little advertising and get rich.

Well it has been over a year and a half since I started, I have learned a lot about publishing on the internet.  I know more than I want to about HTML and how to get a site up.

Unfortunately what I have learned is that almost nobody writes their own articles and makes any money by putting them on the internet.

If you’re a really good author you can sell your work, I am not a good author so no one will be paying me anytime soon.

The other way that people can make money is if you are really good at marketing.  If you can write some junk and then make it sound like the best thing in the world. I think it is possible to make money that way.

This just does not interest me at all.

The reason is because when I was about 10 I read an ad for X-ray vision glasses in a comic book. I worked and saved my money for these glasses, which were very expensive.

Then I got my mom to order the glasses for me with all the money I had saved.

When I got the glasses I really thought I would be able to see through walls, I mean the ad showed looking through walls and being about to see the bones in your hand.  I was so disappointed after all the hard work I had done, all the waiting, and then spending my last dollar.

I really look at this form of marketing as stealing, and stealing from a little kid is about the lowest thing I can think of for a person to do.

With some luck the person who wrote that ad will grow old and someone will sell them some worthless swamp land in Florida and take every dime they have, leaving them penniless and living on the street.  Then I can drive by and laugh at them, maybe throw a pair of those glasses at them and yell, “Hey sucker have a pair of these worthless x-ray glasses.”

Only I would break them first so he wouldn’t be able to sell them to another little kid and steal their money too.
