Making $100k blogging

I think I figured out something today…  I am never going to make $100k per year on the internet as a blogger.

I came to that conclusion from reading about some people who were making that kind of money and more.

It seems like one person working by themselves will have trouble blogging and getting much over the $100k point.  Or at least it seems everyone I read about when they get there they start hiring people.  Sometimes lots of people.

I don’t really want to have lots of people working for me.  I started a company one time and had 15 full time employees.  I really felt like a babysitter and it was such a drain to keep them all going I just decided I didn’t need all the headaches and I told myself I would never do that again.

Ok, so I have eliminated any chance of making a million a year. Now back to the $100k per year.

The guys who I have been reading about making that kind of money also say that they post more than 6000 times a year, plus they:

  • Write for other sites

  • Publish ebooks

  • Consult for other websites

  • Work on projects with other publishers as Joint Ventures

  • Run mail order sales for products sold through their websites

  • Writes for 3 newsletters

So the 6000 posts a year is only a small part of their work day.  I am lucky if I can post once every 2 days.  If I could break 200 posts a year that would be amazing.

That means I have to work for 30 years to match what these guys are doing, not counting all the other stuff.

Oh yeah, and they say they have been keeping this pace up for 3 to 5 years before they started making much money.

So it looks like I have to give myself about 100 years to be successful and I don’t think I am going to live that much longer.

So I have decided that making money on the internet is not really in my future as a blogger.
