Analyzing Keywords Just Wasting My Time Away

I have spent a year looking at keywords - analyzing them - checking which ones pay better than others – which ones are typed into search engines more than others.

You would think that after a year I would have learned a few things… I have created more than 30 websites and have several hundred pages published now.

Then I read about a guy who is trying to think up a word to make a domain name out of to test something. He comes up with FART, and that is taken so he gets dotfart.com and puts up a couple things on his one page.  After that he sticks some ads on and starts pulling in $250 a month.

So he is making more in a month than I have made with all the sites put together in more than a year, that just doesn’t seem fair.  When you look at the number and analyze this it does not seem to make sense there are almost no advertisers and what they are willing to pay to get someone to a joke site is almost nothing.

But with all my brilliant planning and work – hours of analyzing – days of coming up with the best ad copy – weeks of publishing pages – months of getting listed in the search engines.

This guy puts up one page that is fart related and blows me away.

Maybe it’s time I realize if I can’t compete with someone like this then I should look for a new line of work…  One that makes some money.
