Online Money Making Opportunity

I have noticed a SEO problem with using blogger if I am using the keywords “online money making opportunity”.  At least with my site the home page is the page that blogger publishes to, so like I was saying my keywords phrase online money making opportunity is what I am trying to target. If I am successful with online money making opportunity then I will rank high in the search engines.  But the next time I post anything it will knock “online money making opportunity “ off the main page and I will not rank for those keywords anymore. Unless I post again about that exact same phrase which is not easy to do.

Since usually your home page will be the page that ranks the best with the search engines.  That’s the page you want to spend some time on trying to get a good ranking. So it’s a little disappointing to get a good rank for a day or so then get bumped to the end of the line when you put up your next post. That’s why I am going to try and put a keyword phrase like online money making opportunity on my main page then just leave it there, and move the blog to another page.  

You can probably guess what I am going to call that page, your right if you guessed “online money making opportunity”.

I have been thinking about switching to a static home page for some time I am just not exactly sure how to go about it, and I have to decide where I will put the front page of the blog.  This way I could work on the front page and if I did get it to rank for some keywords like online money making opportunity, then it would stay there. Of course this only works for Yahoo and MSN, Google almost only looks at page rank and backlinks so it almost does not matter what you put on your pages.  You can rank number one with Google for a keyword that you don’t even have on your page. There are plenty of examples of this.  

Right now on Yahoo the page that ranks number one for “online money making opportunity” has a word count of 1900 this is what I have been seeing a lot of lately pages that have around 2000 to 3000 seem to do better.  I think this is because they can use the phrase “online money making opportunity” a lot more if you have a larger page.

If you only have 200 words you can only really use the phrase “online money making opportunity” maybe 3 or 4 times. If you have 3000 words then you can work “online money making opportunity” into your text as many as 30 times.  

And if Yahoo just counts the number of times it runs across the words online money making opportunity then 30 is more than 3 or 4 so it will rank higher.  That’s my theory anyway.

I have noticed that with the more popular keywords Yahoo starts using page rank somewhere along the way.  With the less popular phrases then page rank does not seem to be as important.

Here is my theory on Page Rank.  The search engines can’t just go on Page Rank alone.  If they did then there would be some PR 10 site and it would just rank number 1 for all search terms.  And people probably would not like that.
So using my “online money making opportunity” example, “making money” is a much more popular set of keywords, and I guess “money” is even more popular than that.  
The keyword money takes a page rank of 8 to get into the number one spot on Yahoo.
But “making money” only take a page rank of 4, and “online money making opportunity” only takes a page rank of 2.

Of course the traffic on “money” is going to be a lot more than on “online money making opportunity” so if you have a site the is page rank 8 then go for “money” if your site is only page rank 2 or 3 then your going to have to settle for something like “online money making opportunity”.  

But being number 1 for “online money making opportunity” is going to give you a lot more traffic than being number 2 million for “money”.  So keep that in mind when you are looking for keywords that you can beat the competition on.
